Obituary for Barbara Ann Hannahs
Barbara Ann Hannahs, age 80, of Zanesville, Ohio, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Genesis Hospice Care Morrison House in Zanesville. She was born August 2, 1935, in Cambridge, daughter of the late James Reed and Ida Lucille Cain Marquis, and she attended Forest Grove High School. Barbara retired from Harts Department Store in Zanesville following 20 years of service, and she was also employed by Moxahala Park in Zanesville. She attended Sharon Presbyterian Church and First Church of Christ, both in Caldwell. She enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy, and she loved being with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Emerson Hannahs, whom she married May 19, 1952, and who died January 27, 1997; one son, James Daniel Hannahs; one grandson, Robert Ridenour; one granddaughter, Erica Miller; one great-grandson, Connor Cottrell; one brother, J. David Marquis; and a special cousin, Norma Kay Wiley.
Surviving are her children, Jackie E. (Bob) Miller, Debi (Lewie) Northrup, Charlene (Ray) Deitenbeck, Rodney A. (Tammy) Hannahs, and Tracy Hannahs, all of Zanesville; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Marquis of Pickerington and Velma Haga of Caldwell; one brother-in-law, Austin (Ruth) Hannahs of Sarahsville; six grandchildren, Michelle Moody, James Cottrell, Joe Ridenour, Butch Deitenbeck, Jenny Hannahs, and Ryan Hannahs; 7 step-grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend, Vicki Pitts of Caldwell.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 7, 2016, from 11AM-3PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 3PM with Pastor Helen Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
