Jackie Lee Cooper, age 67, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at his home. He was born May 26, 1946, in Athens, son of the late Fred and Irene Nicholas Cooper. He retired in 1999 from Bethlehem Steel in Massillon. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed playing pool, dancing, and country music.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Johnny L. Cooper, earlier this year; and one great-grandson, Jayce Wedekind.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Diane Wickham Cooper, whom he married April 12, 1965; one daughter, Crystal A. Martin of Navarre; one son, Jackie L. (Lisa) Cooper, II, of Navarre; his best friend, Homer “Bob” Jarrett of Massillon; 4 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or calling hours. A celebration of his life will be observed by his family at a later date. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
