Obituary for Judith K. Childress
Judith K. Childress, age 65, of Ava, Ohio, died Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born May 1, 1950, in Ava, daughter of the late Randall W. and Gladys M. Baker Moore. She was employed as a secretary for the Noble County Veterans Service office, and she was also employed by Summit Acres Nursing Home and the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641. Judy was a member of the Ava United Methodist Church, the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641, and a member of the Browns Backers. She was a very devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, and she was an official member of the Browns Dawg Pound. She also loved the music of Lionel Ritchie, and she enjoyed making crafts, especially wood crafts, and attending craft shows.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laurie, and her longtime companion, David E. Johnson.
Surviving are one daughter, Tracy D. Dickey (Justin Partlow) of Ava; one son, Ronnie A. “Bub” (Sheena) Childress, III, of Crooksville; her fiancé, Ronnie Hickman of Caldwell; one brother, Gary L. Moore of Ava; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.
Friends may call Wednesday, February 17, 2016, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, February 18th at 11AM. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery in Ava.
