Obituary for Cheryl Dawn Willey Cowgill
Cheryl Dawn Willey Cowgill, age 72, of Sarahsville, Ohio, passed away from this life October 1, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Marietta. She was born October 31, 1946, in Noble County, the third daughter of the late Clyde E. and Geraldine Porter Willey. She was a 1964 graduate of Caldwell High School and Muskingum Area Technical College, where she studied data processing. Cheryl was employed by William Parks, CPA for many years before starting Cheryl’s Bookkeeping and Tax Service at her home in Sarahsville. She had 38 years combined experience in bookkeeping and she was an enrolled agent who could practice before the IRS. She was a charter representative for 15 years with Scout Pack #514 and she helped with Boy Scout Troop #508 at Mt. Ephraim for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Carol Khune.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Larry E. Cowgill, whom she married February 12, 1965; two sons, Eagle Scout Douglas E. Cowgill and Eagle Scout Timothy L. (Bobbie Gayle) Cowgill, both of Sarahsville; her grandsons whom she loved, Eagle Scout Bailey Cowgill, Eagle Scout Collin Cowgill, and Eagles Scouts-to-be Noah and Alex Cowgill, all of Sarahsville; her siblings, Rodger (Joan) Willey and Judy (Charles) Poling, all of Caldwell, and Wende (Samuel) Schott of Rado Ridge; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles (Carolyn) Cowgill of Sarahsville; many nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend, Cheryl Wentworth of Cummings, Georgia.
A graveside service will be observed Friday, October 4, 2019, at 11AM at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
