Obituary for Doris R. Fish Norman
Doris R. Fish Norman, age 77, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at her home. She was born October 22, 1941, in Utica, daughter of the late William H. and Betty Beck Fish, and she was the step-daughter of Vera J. Samay Fish of Old Washington, who raised her following the passing of her mother. She was a graduate of Valley Local High School in Buffalo. Doris was employed by Ecko Products of Byesville and as a home health aide, and she was also associated with Hospice of Guernsey. She attended Harmony Baptist Church. Doris loved to crochet and donated many caps, afghans, and lap blankets to Genesis Cancer Center. She also loved traveling, cooking, and baking. She was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one step-son, Phillip Norman; her sisters, Betty Ann Milner and Vera Mae Skender; and her brothers, William E. “Butch” Fish and Ronald D. Fish.
Surviving in addition to her step-mother are her husband, Don Norman, whom she married July 4, 1964; two sons, Donald A. (Wendy) Norman of Lago Vista, Texas and Derek W. (Jessica) Norman of Manassas, Virginia; her step-children, Donna A. Ours and Rita K. Youel, both of Newark, Phyllis J. Millhone of Pleasant City, Betty J. (Wayne) Kolbe of Cumberland, and Nancy L. Wallace of Columbus; three sisters, Diane (Don) Paden of Old Washington, Theresa M. Dutton of Cambridge, and Barbara L. Fish of Byesville; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 9AM-12PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 12PM with Lester Bell officiating.
