Obituary for Florence A. Wilson
Florence A. Wilson, age 90, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Thursday, December 12, 2013, at The Helen Purcell Home in Zanesville. She was born July 12, 1923, in Berne, Noble County, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Effie Warfield Orr. She was a 1941 graduate of Caldwell High School, where she was the valedictorian of her class. She was a United States Army veteran of World War II, and early in her life she was employed by the Journal-Leader. She was employed for many years by City Loan in Caldwell, and she retired from the former First National Bank in Caldwell. She was a member the Noble County Historical Society, and she enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ward Q. “Bill” Wilson, who died in 1984; three sisters, Alta Archer, Ethel Sickafoose, and Melba Haines; and three brothers, Charles, Fred, and Urban Orr. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. No visitation will be observed. A funeral service will be observed Sunday, December 15, 2013, at 2PM with Pastor George Clark officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow in Eastern Cemetery in Summerfield conducted by the Noble County Veteran’s Service Organizations.
