Obituary for Sherri Lea Archer
Sherri Lea Archer, age 40, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. She was born April 1, 1972, in Cambridge, daughter of Avon Lee “Junior” and Brenda S. Bonar Woodard of Pleasant City. She was a 1990 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and a 1994 graduate of the Ohio University School of Nursing, from which she earned an associate degree in nursing, and where she was currently enrolled in the BSN program. She was employed as a rehab nurse and a cardiac care nurse for Genesis Healthcare in Zanesville, and was currently employed there as a clinical purchasing specialist. Along with her husband and family, she owned and operated Archwood Family Restaurant on the square in Caldwell. Sherri enjoyed shopping, especially on trips to New York, and boating. She loved watching her children play sports and spending time with her family. She was dedicated to her community, especially supporting area children in many ways. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Avon and Inez Woodard and Addie Woodard; her mother-in-law, Josephine Marcella Archer, who died June 14, 1996. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Sherman S. Archer, whom she began dating in 1985 when she was just 13 years old and he was 15. They were married October 26, 1996. She is also survived by one son, Sheldon Lee Archer of the home; one daughter, Sheridan Marcella Archer of the home; two sisters, Nancy Y. (Ron) Crum of Sarahsville and Tanya S. (Justin) Hitchens of Pleasant City; her maternal grandparents, Victor and JoAnn Bonar of Conesville; her father-in-law, James F. Archer of Caldwell; several nieces, nephews, two great-nephews, cousins, many friends, and her beloved dogs, Isabella and Bruiser. Friends may call Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 2-8PM at Faith Baptist Church, 200 Grove Road, Belle Valley, Ohio, where the funeral service will be held Thursday, July 26th at 11AM with Pastor Larry Copley and Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Caldwell Athletic Boosters, or to Community Savings Bank,425 Main Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724, where a scholarship fund is being established to support a Caldwell High School student pursuing a career in nursing.
