Obituary for Gerald Elmer Estadt
Gerald Elmer Estadt, age 66, of Dexter City, Ohio, died Saturday, September 9, 2006, at his residence. He was born July 6, 1940, in Caldwell, Ohio, son of the late Gilbert and Marie Hupp Estadt. He was a graduate of Caldwell High School, and was employed as a sawyer for Donald Morris Lumber Company at Macksburg. He was a member of the St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Fulda, and he was a Dexter City councilman for many years. He enjoyed coin collecting, gardening, rabbit hunting, and traveling, especially visiting lighthouses. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Reuben Estadt. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Ann Gill, whom he married April 29, 1995; his children, Brenda (Doug) Witter of Hamilton, Brad G. (Brenda) Estadt of Zanesville, and Brian W. (Carrie) Estadt of Walnut Creek, California; his step-children, John R. (Diane) Russell of Caldwell, R. Beverly (Thomas) Tidd of Wingett Run, R. Brad (Brenda) Russell of Lowell, and Larry D. Russell of Lower Salem; one sister, Vera Meadows of Cambridge; two brothers, Carlos (Sue) Estadt of Marietta and Vernon (Donna) Estadt of Caldwell; one sister-in-law, Betty Estadt of Caldwell; five grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel, and Krista Estadt and Nathan and Alex Witter; five step-grandchildren, John, Sylvia, and Michael Russell, Shelby Ingram, and Kayla Tidd; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call Monday, September 11, 2006, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Tuesday, September 12, at 10:30AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Fulda with Father Samuel Saprano as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. Christian Scripture services will be held Monday evening at 8PM.
