Obituary for Elmer S. Hohman
Elmer S. Hohman, age 77, of Caldwell, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. He was born October 17, 1928, in Fulda, Ohio, son of the late Phillip and Rose Warner Hohman. He was retired as a driller and equipment operator from Central Ohio Coal Company, and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was also a member of the Caldwell Moose, and St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Marcella Mulby, Clara Yardanak, and Helen Eleckbarger; and three brothers, Harold, Bernard, and Walter Hohman. Surviving are his wife, Ruth A. Hill Hohman, whom he married September 2, 1950; four daughters, Mrs. Don (Marsha) Harold of Scott Depot, West Virginia, Mrs. Charles (Carolyn) Teters, Sandra Ramsey, and Rebecca Hayes, all of Caldwell; one sister, Mrs. Gene (Martha) Ortlieb of Columbus; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, June 11, 2006, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the Christian scripture services will be held at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Monday, June 12, 2006, at 10:30AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda with Fr. Samuel Saprano as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Caldwell.
