Obituary for Vernon O. Reed, Sr.
Vernon O. Reed, Sr., age 76, of Malta, Ohio died Friday (7/11/2003) at Genesis Good Samairtan Medical Center in Zanesville, Ohio. He was born 7/22/1926 ar Renrock, Ohio a son of the late Omar and Itol Combs Reed. He was a WWII Army Veteran having served in Germany and had retired in 1989 from Interlake Steel. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Carol Ann Reed and 2 brothers Roy and James Reed. Survivivng are 5 sons Lloyd David (Barbara) Reed of Caldwell, Vernon O. 'Bud' (Susan) Reed, Jr. of Belle Valley, William Charles 'Bill' (Shari) Reed of Belle Valley, Clair Corwin 'Corky Reed of Caldwell and Jimmy Reed of Malta; 2 daughters Carmen (Mark) Feldner of Belle Valley and Debbie Reed of Malta; 1 brother Floyd Zale (Barbara) Reed of Chandlersville; 2 sisters Pearl (Boone) Waite of Hiramsburg and Mary (Wayne) Bickford of Olive Green; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday (7/14/2003) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio where services will be held on Tuesday (7/15/2003) at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Guy Smallwood officiating. Burial will follow at Ark Spring Cemetery. Caldwell Post 4721 VFW and Belle Valley Post #641 American Legion will conduct military graveside honors.
