Obituary for C. David Milligan
C. David Milligan, age 74, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, March 20, 2015, at his home. He was born June 11, 1940, in Caldwell, son of the late Charles W. and Vera Mae Teters Milligan. He was a 1958 graduate of Caldwell High School, and a 1962 graduate of Ohio University, Athens, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in education. From 1962-1974, he taught biology and driver’s education at Ontario High School, where he also served as head basketball coach and assistant football coach. From 1974-1982, Mr. Milligan was employed by King Coal Company, and from 1982-2002, he was employed as a foreman for Central Ohio Coal Company, from which he retired. He was a member of Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM. He loved showing mules and taking his mule team and wagon to participate in parades in the area. He was also an avid Ohio State fan.
He is survived by his wife, Judy L. Feldner Milligan, whom he married June 24, 1960; one daughter, Shari L. (Jim) Jones of Caldwell; one son, David E. Milligan; two sisters, Joyce (Harry) Smith of Marietta and Becky Bettinger of Caldwell; two grandchildren, Kacey L. (Jeremy) Mizik of Caldwell and E. Boone Jones of Caldwell; two great-grandchildren, Aubreigh R. and Lukas J. Mizik; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, March 23, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, March 24th at 11AM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
