Obituary for Thomas F. Seevers
Thomas F. Seevers, age 78, of Ava, Ohio, went peacefully home to be with his Savior Sunday, March 15, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 30, 1936, in Byesville, son of the late Virgil and Dorothy Stevens Seevers. He lived in the Ava area most of his adult life. He was a 1954 graduate of Sarahsville High School. His first job was working at the Ava Brick Yard from 1954 to 1958, and he was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1958 to 1960, serving most of his time in Germany. After his discharge, he returned to the Ava Brick Yard, and he was later employed by the former Gould plant in Caldwell and the Central Ohio Coal Company, where he was retired following a serious injury. Tom and his wife, Nancy, were members and faithful servants of the Ava Free Methodist Church for twenty years. Tom enjoyed bowling, and he was an avid country music fan whose favorite singer was Jim Reeves, and he enjoyed playing the guitar. He had a generous and caring spirit that was well known to his family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Marlene Seevers Stottsberry.

Survivng are the love of his life, Nancy L. Baker Seevers, whom he married January 27, 1962; two sons, Tim (Jennifer) Seevers of Temperanceville and Clinton Seevers of Vancouver, Washingon; and he was especially proud of his grandchildren, Ceaira (Tom) Netherda, and Seth, Cirena, and Zac Seevers of Vancouver, Washington, Katie (Mark) Schultheisz of Cambridge, and Samantha Seevers and Brittany Wills of Temperanceville; two great-grandchildren, Makalyla Seevers of Vancouver, Washington, and Roghan Schultheisz of Cambridge; one brother-in-law, Jim Stottsberry of Mountain View, California; and one niece, Terri Lynn (Doug) Young of Mountain View, California.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 18, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, March 19th at 1PM with Pastor Rodney Reeves and Pastor Ken Harper officiating. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Halleys Ridge Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. Memorial contributions may be made to Noble County Ripples, P.O.
