Obituary for John James "Jack" Hrinko
John James “Jack” Hrinko, age 79, of Sharon, Ohio, passed peacefully in his home with family Thursday afternoon, February 21, 2019, after a long battle with ALS. He was born May 19, 1939, in Belle Valley, son of the late Mike and Josephine Mizik Hrinko. He was a 1956 graduate of Belle Valley High School, and he was a United States Navy veteran having served on the USS Runner as a torpedoman. He worked at Howard Service Company, Western Electric, and he retired from International Converter, Inc. Jack also owned and operated the family business, Hrinko Tree Farm, for many years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Paul Hrinko; and his friend and fellow serviceman, Denver Graves.
Jack was a devoted husband to his wife, Jane Burlingame Hrinko, whom he married May 9, 1959; loving father to Christopher (Stacy) Hrinko and Lisa Hrinko (Jerry Brownrigg); brother to Susan (Tom) Ruff; doting grandfather to Samantha Mizik, Jacob (Rachel) Hrinko, Nathan Hrinko, Sarah Hrinko (Jon Vogt), Katelyn (Dezere) Martin, Clayton Hrinko, and Kyle Hrinko; great-grandfather to Orion and Xander Hrinko; uncle to several nieces and nephews; special friend to Jack McFerren and Al Hupp; and beloved companion to Gracie and Bitsy.
Friends may call Sunday, February 24, 2019, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, February 25th at 1PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Sharon Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
