Obituary for Rosa A. Johnson
Rosa A. Johnson, age 89, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at The Beckett House in New Concord. She was born February 1, 1925, near Summerfield, daughter of the late Aaron and Nellie Bates Everly. She was a homemaker and she was Pentecostal Christian by faith. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, flower gardening, and she enjoyed singing.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Mancel Johnson; one granddaughter, Sonia Johnson; 4 sisters, Bertha Wickham, Verna Wickham, Clarice Wickham, and Iva Brown; and 5 brothers, Harry, Chester, Walton, Herbert, and Paul Everly.
Surviving are her husband, Russell L. Johnson; two daughters, Shirley D. (J. Gary) Watson of Byesville and Cheryl D. (George A.) Morgareidge of Caldwell; one son, Roger L. Johnson of Belle Valley; one sister, Edna M. Brown of Ava; one sister-in-law, Madlyn Cox of Michigan; 10 grandchildren, Denny (Lorie) Stover, Teresa Anker, Mary Ann (Jack) Watson-Ward, Candi (Matt) Watson-Miller, Jennifer Johnson, Mancel Johnson, Brian (Carrie) Johnson, Josh Eibel, Kari Dotson, and Cheryl Wilson; 3 step-grandchildren, Jeremy Morgareidge, Jessica Wilson, and Jordan Wilson; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, September 4, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, September 5th at 11AM with Ken Perkins and George Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville.
