Ruth Imogene "Jean" Henthorne, 86, of Dexter City, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Born September 30, 1937, daughter of the late Herman D. and Wineva M. (Reed) Farson of Keithtown, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Imogene is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, whom she married November 20, 1954, Joe Maxie Henthorne, who departed this life April 15, 2008; infant son, Randolph Henthorne; youngest son, Kenneth Henthorne; four sisters, Delores (Walter) Tidd, Evelyn Chapman, Pat Garret and Donna (Bob) Henthorna; brother, Melvin Farson; sister-in-law, Wilma (Clayton) Seckman; brothers-in-law, Bill Brown, Bob Henthorne and Charles Spence; and daughter-in-law, Cora Henthorne.
Imogene leaves to cherish the many memories and lessons left in her absence, her children, Joe (Elaine) Henthorne, Rick Henthorne, Kathy (Rodney) Haas, Kevin Henthorne and Lynn (Robert) Burrell; grandchildren, Angela (John) Ginn, Crystal Haas, Brian Henthorne, Heather (Justin) Honaker, Kyle (Laycee) Henthorne, Kelly (Judd) Murvine, Cheyenne Haas and Matthew Burrell; several great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her oldest sister, Inez Woodford, of Columbus, OH, middle sister, Jo-An Brown, of Lancaster, OH, and youngest sister, Shirley (Ronnie) Sigman, of Caldwell, OH; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends and neighbors who will miss her as well.
Jean was an industrious homemaker and cook who always had an open door. She was a long standing member of the Church of Christ where she taught Bible classes. Imogene had also been a 4-H advisor. Jean was the clerk for Jackson Township in Noble County from the early 1970s until 2012. She retired after many years of employment from Heartland Nursing Care. Imogene was a wonderful grandmother and her grandchildren cherished the time spent in her home. We will all miss her dearly as well as her goodwill, example of faith and fortitude.
You may call on the family, Wednesday November 22, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East St., Caldwell, OH. Minister Brian Sigman officiating. Following services, Imogene will be laid to rest alongside her husband and sons in Keithtown Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
