Obituary for Edward J. Pilcher
Edward J. Pilcher, age 65, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, February 9, 2018, at his home. He was born February 7, 1953, son of the late Elwood W. “Woodie” and Mary O. Nau Pilcher. He was a 1971 graduate of Caldwell High School. He attended The Ohio State University. Later, he became a certified lumber grader. Early in his life, Ed was a painter, and worked in silo construction. He owned and operated a hog farm for several years. His mind was constant and creative. He owned and operated Maywood Lumber and Pallets for many years. He built hundreds of log cabins in Noble County and the surrounding area and reclaimed old barns. He was a member of St. Mary of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda and a member of the Caldwell Moose Lodge #221. Ed enjoyed fishing, gardening, and farming, and repurposing and reclaiming old things. He was a devoted father who loved helping his daughters with their 4-H projects, and he loved visiting with his friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Marsha F. Walters; and one brother, Samuel D. Pilcher.
Surviving are two daughters, Emily J. (Josh) Click of Ironton, Ohio, and Ericka J. (Adam) Odoski of Golden, Colorado; his siblings, Laura (Ed) Schafer of Senecaville, Madeline Watson (Dennis Thompson) of Caldwell, Kathleen (Matthew) Jamiel of Cambridge, and Tom (Judy) Pilcherh of Caldwell; two granddaughters, Avery Click and Ella Odoski; a brother-in-law, Rusty Walters of Caldwell; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call Sunday February 11, 2018, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Monday, February 12th at 10AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Inurnment will be observed at a later time.
