Obituary for Judith D. "Judy" McKown
Judith D. “Judy” McKown, age 74, of Newport, Ohio, died Saturday, June 25, 2022, at The Arbors at Marietta with her daughter by her side. She was born April 30, 1948, in Noble County, daughter of the late Harry L. and Edna E. Cobb Barlow. Judy was retired from Wal-Mart in Marietta. She spent many hours assisting with the Disabled American Veterans. She loved to play bingo and volunteered at bingo nights at the Newport Volunteer Fire Department. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, O. Dean McKown, whom she married November 5, 1966, and who died April 2, 2018; infant twin daughters, Carla and Darla McKown; and one grandson, Nathanial Phillips.
Surviving are her children, Dean E. (Tiffany) McKown of Hubert, North Carolina, Ricky L. McKown (Nikki Davis) of Newport, and Mary E. McKown (Stan Jones) of Marietta; 8 grandchildren, Kenneth McKown, LeiLynd McKown, Laysei McKown, Koda McKown, Libby Phillips, Jaxon McKown, Rebecka Boyd, and Lucille Boyd; 3 great-grandchildren, Augustus Orr, Esme-Rose Orr, and Rosalie Orr; two brothers, Paul (Mary) Barlow and Jerry (Becky) Barlow, all of Dexter City; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM with Pastor Freddie Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Lund Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to McVay-Perkins Funeral Home to assist with final expenses by clicking the green Donate tab in the left column.
