Obituary for Jack W. Davis
Jack W. Davis, age 69, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at his home. He was born July 18, 1949, in Zanesville, son of Audrey M. McDonald Davis of Zanesville and the late Fred W. Davis. He was a 1966 graduate of Zanesville High School, and he was a United States Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam. He retired in 1999 as a supervisor for United Technologies, and later he was employed by Bloomer Candy Company, both of Zanesville. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell and a member of the Sharon Lodge #136, F&AM, and he was a member of the Noble County Veterans Honor Guard. Jack loved vegetable gardening and he was devoted to his beloved family.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Stacey Renee Davis; one grandson, Cooper Finn Davis; and one sister, Ellen Davis.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Charlene Kay Mitchell Davis, whom he married September 4, 1971; two children, Matthew W. (Niki) Davis of Bryan, Ohio, and Jacquelynn Hope (Chris) Coen of Columbus; his siblings, Frederick W. Davis of Jackson, Mississippi, Karen A. Tucker of Zanesville, and Audrey M. Davis of Nashport; three grandchildren, Griffin Oakes Davis, Owen Grey Davis, and Gracelynn Renee Coen; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday, July 27th at 11AM with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating, followed by a veteran’s service conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
