Obituary for Lynn Foraker
Lynn Foraker, age 77, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, September 6, 2021, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born October 2, 1943, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Loyal Pete and Edrie Pearl Boyd Craft. Lynn was a 1961 graduate of Caldwell High School. For many years she was employed by local bakeries, including Gateway Market and The Bakery on the square in Caldwell. She did babysitting in her home for many years, and she also baked and decorated cakes out of her home. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Worthwhile and Young at Heart Sunday School classes, organized greeters and communion preparation, and helped with Vacation Bible School. She was a longtime member of Noble County Performing Arts. Lynn enjoyed making ceramics and crafts, reading, and working crossword, word search, and jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Eugene Foraker, whom she married January 1, 1962, and who died June 23, 1993; one sister, Leora Michel; and three brothers, Bill Craft, Tom Craft, and Benson Craft.
Surviving are her children, Vanessa K. (Dave) Stapert of Burns, Wyoming, and Todd A. Foraker of Marietta; her siblings, Carol (Rodney) Rohrbaugh of Caldwell and Doris “Dot” Barlock of Medina; a sister-in-law, Sharon Craft of Caldwell; a brother-in-law, Larry Foraker of New Market, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; and a grand-cat, Buckeye.
Friends may call Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, September 10th at 11AM with Pastor Brent DeWees and Pastor Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery. Due to current Covid conditions, guests are asked to follow recommended safety guidelines at all gatherings.
