Obituary for Jackie Lee Robinson
Jackie Lee Robinson, age 75, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at his home. He was born May 11, 1942, in Dresden, son of the late Raymond and Dorothy Robinson Craft. He was a graduate of Fulda High School, and he was a member of the Ohio National Guard. Jackie retired in 1991 from The Ohio State University Eastern Agricultural Research Stations at Belle Valley and Middleburg as director of Unit 2. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and the Arby’s Coffee Club. He enjoyed camping and spending time on his CB radio, where he was known by the handle “Big Jack.” In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Roberta Mae Robinson, who died January 4, 1994.
Surviving are his wife, Judith Ann Crock Robinson, whom he married October 25, 1969; his children, Brian L. (fiancé, Robin) Robinson of The Plains, Troy E. Robinson of Caldwell, Jackie A. (Ashley) Robinson of Columbus, Mississippi, Tyler K. (Brandi) Robinson of Caldwell, and J.R. (Tori) Sayre of Columbus, Mississippi; a foster daughter, Angel Rodriquez of West Palm Beach, Florida; one sister, Shirley R. Wise of Caldwell; 10 grandchildren, Shala Robinson, Jonah Robinson, Ashley Arnold, Jessica Carter, Joe Sayre, Lane Sayre, Emily Robinson, Jackie Robinson, Jr., Jerry Campbell, and Jerrod Campbell; 4 great-grandchildren, Mason, Avery, Addison, and Bailey; his beloved dog, his doodle, Minnie; a grand-dog, a boxer, Taz; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a vigil service will conclude visitation at 8PM. Calling hours will also be observed Thursday, June 8th from 9AM-10:30AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, where Funeral Liturgy with Mass will follow visitation at 10:30AM with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. A veteran’s graveside service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
