Obituary for E. Hasseltine Edmisten
E. Hasseltine Edmisten, age 84, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She was born July 8, 1930, in Gatesville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Paul and Mary Nell Phillips Hofler. She was a graduate of Boone High School, and she attended Appalachian State University, both in North Carolina. She was a secretary for the family business, Noble Hardwood and Don-El Pallet, and she was a senior companion for many years. Mrs. Edmisten loved cooking for her family, and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, working crossword puzzles, and making crafts of all kinds.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Donald Edmisten, whom she married September 2, 1949, and who died November 19, 2007.
Surviving are her children, Pat (Chuck) Connolly of Caldwell, Jim (Brenda) Edmisten of Pennsboro, West Virginia, Jane Caborn of Orlando, Florida, and Paul (Chanda) Edmisten of Alpharetta, Georgia; 1 sister; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday, July 17, 2014, from 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, July 18th at 11AM with Pastor Dan Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell. The family would like to give special thanks to Summit Acres Nursing Home and their staff for all of their fine care.
