Obituary for Lina Faye Simmons
Lina Faye Simmons, age 77, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Saturday, April 18, 2020, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born July 4, 1942, in Spencer, West Virginia, daughter of the late Kenna and Gertie Conley Boggs. She retired as a housekeeper from St. Luke Nursing Home in North Canton. Faye loved flowers, and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her husband, Lloyd Simmons; two sons, Rocky L. (Laura Susan) Simmons of Canal Fulton and Larry Dean (Robyn) Simmons of Massillon; one sister, Georgie Bateman of Wooster; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be observed Wednesday, April 22, 2020, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio. For public safety, guests will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced by allowing 10 visitors at a time according to state guidelines. The funeral service will be observed Thursday, April 23rd at 11AM for the immediate family; however, friends may come and support the family from their cars and process to Eastern Cemetery in Summerfield for the committal service. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor John Boggs. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories, pictures, and messages of support.
