Obituary for Winona C. McCune
Winona C. McCune, age 74, of Ava, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at her home. She was born January 7, 1931, in Noble County, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Evelyn Poling Anderson. She was employed as a housekeeper at the former Park Motel for many years, and attended the former Barry's Ridge Community Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Terrance Ray Fry; three sisters, Ruth Bond, Cuba Davis, and Vivian LaBarre; and three brothers, John, Lloyd, and Leonard Anderson. Surviving are her husband, Ronald McCune, whom she married March 10, 1981; one daughter, Bonnie Jane Ruppel of Ava; her foster children, David and Danielle Wheeler of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Chuck (Wanda) Gildow of Caldwell, Bonnie Miller of Cumberland, Pauline Woomer of Beverly, Geneva Wittenbrook of Caldwell, and Mrs. Paul (Alice) Hicks of Caldwell; one brother, Homer (Wyona) Anderson of Lower Salem; eight grandchildren, Ian Ruppel, Sammi Hubley, Robi McFarland, Erin Fry, Terrance Ray Fry, Jr., Nicki Fry, Latasha Fry, and Cody Fry; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, January 6, 2006, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the service will be Saturday, January 7 at 1PM with Lynn Zerkle officiating.
