Obituary for Wilma Grace 'Kim' Gildow
Wilma Grace "Kim" Gildow, age 95, of Macksburg, Ohio, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born May 11, 1915, in Noble County, daughter of the late Tom and Bertha McVay Hayes. She was employed as a dishwasher and cook for the former Ogles Restaurant and as a housekeeper for Selby Hospital in Marietta. She attended the Elba Community Church, and she enjoyed reading, flowers, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Gildow, who died December 16, 1985; two daughters, Mary Ann Gildow and Virginia Dianne Gildow; five sons, Charles "Doc" Shilling, John Shilling, Dick Shilling, Bill Shilling, and Robert Shilling; three sisters, Lucille Clark, Madge Morrison, and Irene Shilling; and two brothers, Earl Hayes and Charles Hayes.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet (Patrick) Stover of Waterford; three sons, Wayne (Martha) Shilling of Whipple, Tom Gildow of Lancaster and Jim (Marilyn) Gildow of Macksburg; two daughters-in-law, Dottie Shilling of Gahanna and Patty Shilling of Dexter City; 28 grandchildren; 29-great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Thursday at 1PM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Lund Cemetery at Macksburg.
