Obituary for William U. Miller
William U. Miller, age 86, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. He was born June 1, 1926, in Dudley, son of the late Albert Andy and Louise Lorey Miller. He graduated from the former St. Ursula Academy in Caldwell, and he was a World War II Army veteran, having served in Germany. He retired as a crane operator from the former Dana Corporation plant in Caldwell, and he was a bus driver for Caldwell Exempted Village Schools. Mr. Miller also worked as a truck driver, and repaired TVs for many years. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, mowing his lawn cutting firewood, and tinkering with things around his house. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude E. Marquis Miller, whom he married May 18, 1951, and who died March 23, 2010; two brothers, Stanley Miller and Ronald “Butch” Miller; and one daughter-in-law, Theresa Miller. Surviving are his children, Gregory L. Miller of Evansville, Indiana, Marquis A. (Becky) Miller of Sharon, Roger D. (Peggy) Miller of Quaker City, Theadore L. (Tina) Miller of Marietta, Kevin W. Miller of Johnstown, and Michelle R Miller (fiancé Grant Davis) of Columbus; five sisters, Lillian Zeleznik of Caldwell, Margie Postel of Caldwell, Jeannie (Ed) Fleisher of Salisbury, Maryland, Joann Miller of Chicago, Illinois, and Judy (Jack) Turner of Caldwell; three brothers, Dayle (Helen) Miller of New Matamoras, Louis “Jim” (Betty) Miller of Sarahsville, and Bob (Brenda) Miller of Caldwell; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
