William Dwight Miller, age 87, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born October 29, 1928, in Noble County, son of the late Delbert and Rosa Miller Miller. He was a graduate of Summerfield High School, and he was a United States Army veteran, having served in Korea. He retired from the former Mahle Plant in Caldwell, where he worked in the shipping department, and later as an inspector. He was a member of the Green Valley Church of Christ, the East Union Sportsmen’s Club, and the East Union Coffee Club. Dwight enjoyed operating a saw shop from his home, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Florence Irene Van Fossen Miller, whom he married June 25, 1949, and who died February 4, 2010; an infant daughter, Cheryl Lynn Miller; one daughter-in-law, Becky Miller; and two brothers, Everett and Carl Miller.
Surviving are two sons, Denny D. Miller and Danny B. Miller, both of Sarahsville; four grandchildren, Rob Miller of Caldwell, Lea (Luke) McKee of Sarahsville, Brian (Laura) Miller of Caldwell, and Brent (Karyssa) Miller of Sarahsville; 8 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Friends may call Friday, February 12, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, February 13th at 11AM with Vernon Crum officiating. A military graveside service will follow at Olive Cemetery conducted by the Noble County Veteran Services Organizations.
