Willa Dee Slay, age 82, of Caldwell, died Monday, October 4, 2004, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born September 14, 1922, near Grafton, West Virginia, daughter of the late Elmer A. and Myrtle Williamson. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of Christ, Caldwell. Surviving are her husband, Glenn Bernard Slay, whom she married September 17, 1940; three sons, Glenn (Carol) Slay of Dublin, Clifford (Brenda) Slay of Powell, and George (JoAnn) Slay of Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary Jane) Berchak of Columbus and Michael June Young of Zanesville; three sisters, Nina Martin of Grafton, West Virginia, Pauline St. John of Bellaire, and Thelma Weaver of Mississippi; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. No visitation will be observed. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 7, 2004, at 11AM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, with Rev. Gary Fitzgerald officiating.
