Obituary for Wayne L. Schillings, Sr.
Wayne L. Schillings, Sr., age 85, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, June 6, 2014, at his home. He was born May 12, 1929, near Elba, son of the late Ernest Orvil and Lulu Margaret Addlesburger Shillings. He was a 1947 graduate of Macksburg High School, and he was a United States Army veteran, having served in Guam. He was a retired truck driver who hauled heavy construction equipment for over 35 years. Later in life he worked as a mechanic, and he enjoyed deer hunting.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Goldie Baker and Edith Reign; and three brothers, Homer Schilling, Richard Schilling, and Cleo Shilling.
He is survived by his children, Wayne L. (Sharon) Schillings, Jr. of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Susan (Barry) Brounce and Brian Schillings, both of Levittown, Pennsylvania; one brother, J. Thomas Schillings of Holly Hill, Florida; 4 grandchildren, Brianna, Hunter, Joey and Bailey; a special friend, Carol Spicer of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be observed Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at 10AM at South Olive Cemetery with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating, and a veteran’s service will be conducted by the Noble County Veteran Services Organizations.
