Obituary for Walter 'Buddy' Fish
Walter “Buddy” Fish, age 78, of Pleasant City, Ohio, was called home by his Saviour on Sunday, August 26, 2012. He was met a heaven’s gate by his beloved wife, Rose Marie. The couple were married for 58 earthly years, and now plan to retire together for all eternity with their Lord. He was born July 7, 1934, in Cumberland, Ohio, son of the late Walter W. and Mary Miller Fish. Although his day job paid the bills, the job he loved the most was working on his farm. He was a proud member of the Operating Engineers, and a lifelong member of the Free and Accepted Masons. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Fish enjoyed daily visits to Bob Evans Restaurant, where they looked at its employees as extended family. They also enjoyed square dancing together. Mr. Fish enjoyed bowling and spending time with his friend, Don Norman. He was a devoted husband and father, who cherished his wife and children above all else. He was known to spoil his grandchildren, who were all perfect in his eyes. In addition to his parents and his wife, Rose Marie, who died July 6, 2012, he is preceded in death by one brother, Charles “Chuck” Fish. Surviving are his children, Cheryl (Jim) Thompson of Pleasant City, David (Ruth) Fish of Ashville, and Jeff (Connie) Fish of Pleasant City; twelve grandchildren, Aimee (Heath) Hayes, Tracy (Shane) McManaway, Lisa (Dale) Eibel, Stephen (Tori) Thompson, Tyler Fish, Nick Fish, Allie (Logan) Buemel, Christy Warner, Timothy Fish, David Wheeler, Daniel (Anna) Wheeler, and Shari Clark; seventeen great-grandchildren, Zachery, Matti, Chrisman, Jennifer, and Jessica Hayes, Carter, Brady, Cooper, and Macey Rose McManaway, Easton and Jhett Eibel, Lyla and Karis Thompson, Luke and Malorie Warner, Landon Fish, Jaycee Wheeler, and Allison Frame; one sister, Dorthy Fannin of Pleasant City; one brother, Willard Hill of Canton ; two sisters-in-law, Kathy (Garland) Harper of Pleasant City and Juanita Hill of Canton; one brother-in-law Ted (Kay) Ickes of Kimbolton, and many nieces and nephews. Friends call Tuesday, August 28, 2012, from 5-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, August 29th at 11AM with Pastor Sturman Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery near Ava. The family would like to that the nurses and staff at the Hospice of Guernsey. Their love and kindness will never be forgotten.
