Obituary for Virginia I. Gould
Virginia I. Gould, age 86, of Cambridge, Ohio, died Thursday, January 8, 2009, at The Beckett House in New Concord. She was born November 30, 1922, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Raymond Ellsworth and Mary Mamie Charlotte Muhlbach Gould. She was a 1940 graduate of Caldwell High School. Miss Gould worked for many years with her father, who was a meat cutter, and later she worked as a nurse's aide for Drs. John Jenkins and Stewart Ricard at the former Caldwell Clinic. She was also employed as a receptionist for the Cambridge Green Thumb Program for the Guernsey County Chapter of the American Red Cross. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell, and she enjoyed playing Rook and baking, especially brownies. She was an avid OSU fan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Faye Bliss and Glenna Jean Johnson. Surviving are one niece, Lana Sue (Ralph) Watkins of Cambridge; one nephew, Todd Johnson of Westerville; one cousin, Charles (Betty) Gould of Cambridge; one grand-niece, Heather R. Jackson of Las Vegas; one grand-nephew, James A. Jackson of Columbus; and one great-grand-nephew, Evan Jackson of Columbus. Friends may call Friday, January 9, 2009, from 5-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Saturday, January 10th at 1PM with Pastors Dale Hunt and Brian King officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Guernsey County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 142 N. 9th Street, Cambridge, Ohio, 43725.
