Obituary for Virginia D. Watson
Virginia D. Watson, age 92, of Caldwell, Ohio, passed peacefully from her earthly home to her heavenly home surrounded by her family Friday, April 27, 2018. She was born November 27, 1925, in Berne, Ohio, daughter of the late Arthur and Bernice Forshey Crum. She was a 1943 graduate of Elk Rural High School in Harriettsville. Virginia owned and operated Watson Hill Service Station for 20 years, and she was employed as an aide for Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell for 20 years. She also served as a babysitter for Tristin and Hunter Weber for 12 years. She was a member of Calais Community Church and she attended Whigville Community Church. She was a devoted Christian woman who was devoted to and loved by her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer F. Watson; three sons, Wilmer Junior Watson, who died July 19, 1968, Marvin R. Watson, who died December 20, 1969, and Billy Joe Watson, who died July 7, 2006; two granddaughters, Jennifer D. Carpenter and Emma Elaine Carpenter; one grandson, Scott Watson; one sister, Betty McGee; and one brother, Clyde Crum.
Surviving are her children, Myrle M. Carpenter of Cambridge, Judy J. Hardin of Byesville, Charlene Watson of the home, Dwaine (Margie) Watson of Cambridge and Alan (Shelia) Watson of Sarahsville; 6 grandchildren, Gary David (Leslie) Carpenter, Josh (Catherine) Carpenter, Dustin Watson (Sara Patterson), Derrick (Ashley) Watson, Mallory Jo (Justin) Doudna, and T.J. Watson; 12 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, Annalise, Andrew, Jayla, Londyn, Diesel, Riley, Hunter, Carter, Reegan, Lydia and Christian; one sister, Margaret Warner of Caldwell; several nieces and nephews; her special home health nurse, Stephanie Stephens; and special friends, John and Marlene Gaydos and family, Tiffany Ansberry, Brianna Nalley, and Steve and Janet Bates and family.
Friends may call Monday, April 30, 2018, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, May 1st at 11AM with Rev. Dr. Myron Guiler officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Ephraim Cemetery.
