Obituary for Vickie J. Martin
Vickie J. Martin, age 65, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born January 21, 1953, in New Philadelphia, daughter of the late Harold David and Carol Jane Bellville Shuster. She was employed as a home health aide for TLC Home Health Care, and she was also employed as a cook for many years, including at The Sandwich Shoppe in Caldwell. Vickie enjoyed flower gardening, and she loved keeping up with family and friends on Facebook. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Martin, Jr., whom she married February 2, 1985, and who died June 23, 2011; and one sister, Kathy Shuster.
Surviving are her children, Kimberly D. (William) Everly of South Olive, David A. Ivey (Kortnye Guiler) of Elba, Scott E. (Crissy) Ivey of Belmont, and Joshua B. Martin (Megan Smithberger) of Caldwell; one step-daughter, Renee Afterkirk; two step-sons, Chuck Martin and Scott Martin; two brothers, David M. Shuster (Bonnie Cleary) of Cambridge and Anthony A. (Robin Shuster) of Sharon; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, September 7th at 2PM with Pastor Bill Pickenpaugh officiating.
