Obituary for Verna Mae Yerian
Verna Mae Yerian, age 91, formerly of Coal Ridge & Philo, Ohio, and a resident of the Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville, Ohio since 1994, died Saturday afternoon (9/7/2002) at Genesis Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. She was born 3/27/1911 in Hoskinsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harry & Bessie Belle Dudley Geary. She was a homemaker and had attended the Pilgrims Chapel in Cumberland, Ohio and the Grace Wesleyan Church in Zanesville, Ohio. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Wayne F. Yerian who died 12/30/1981; 2 sisters Opal Yerian & Joan Johnston; 4 brothers Wesley, Elton, Loren & Owen Geary. Surviving are 2 sons Wayne J. (Dorothy) Yerian of Millersburg, Ohio and Raymond L. (Janet) Yerian of Cambridge, Ohio; 1 daughter Helen J. Archibald of Philo, Ohio; 4 sisters Martha I. (Russell) Brugger of Spring Arbor, Michigan, Esther E. (George) Brugger of Alexandria, Ohio, Donna F. Bates of Jackson, Tennessee and Norma G. (Walter) Huffman of Albion, Michigan; 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Tuesday (9/10/2002) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, where services will be held on Wednesday (9/11/2002) at 1:00 PM with Revs. Gary Brugger and Bruce Archibald officiating. Burial will follow at Hiramsburg Cemetery in Hiramsburg, Ohio.
