Obituary for Verna M. Crum
Verna M. Crum, age 95, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born March 4, 1924, in Malvern, daughter of the late Clarence and Viola Shuman Fogle. She was a 1942 graduate of Timken High School in Canton, and she worked in factories earlier in her life. She was a member of the Caldwell Church of the Nazarene, where she served on the Mission Council, and she enjoyed crocheting and reading. Verna was a beloved homemaker and mother who was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Baldwin Crum, whom she married on December 12, 1963, and who died March 10, 2012; one daughter, Dianna Graybill; two grandchildren, Tammy and Timmy; two sisters, Mary Kuemerle and Gloria Murphy; and one brother, William Fogle.
Surviving are two daughters, Loriece E. Crum of Cumberland and Teresa A. (Dave) Long of Caldwell; her step-children, Bob Crum of Collins, Virginia, Phillip Crum of Danville, Virginia, and Vivan Duke of Martinsville, Virginia; 3 grandchildren, Terry Graybill, Dawna (Levi) Hartman, and Korinna (Aaron) Grywalski; one step-grandchild; several great-grandchildren, including Chase and Logan Hartman; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, July 5, 2019, from 11AM-2PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow at 2PM with Pastor John Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Dudley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio at www.rmhc-centralohio.org.
