Obituary for Verna L. Wickham
Verna L. Wickham, age 96, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Morrison House, Genesis Hospice in Zanesville. She was born December 14, 1916, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Aaron J. and Nellie Bates Everly. She was a homemaker, and she was Protestant by faith. Mrs. Wickham enjoyed sewing, and flower and vegetable gardening. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willis C. Wickham, who died May 21, 1973; one son, Russell E. Wickham, who died June 2, 2010; three sisters, Bertha Wickham, Iva Brown, and Clarice Wickham; five brothers, Walton, Harry, Chester, Herbert, and Paul Everly; and three grandchildren. Surviving are three daughters, Regina M. Williams of Cumberland, Ruth A. (Joe) Harr of Pickerington, and Freda F. (Clyde) Butler of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Rosie (Russell) Johnson of Cumberland and Edna Brown of Ava; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, January 10, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, January 11th at 11AM with Pastor George Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Archer’s Ridge Cemetery.
