Verna B. Butler, age 92, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at her home. She was born March 11, 1931, in Summerfield, daughter of the late Fred E. and Nora L. Green Snyder. Verna attended Summerfield High School and she was a beloved mother and homemaker. She served as a home companion for the Noble County Senior Citizens and was a home health aide for the late Ola Teters. She was a member of the Summerfield Church of Christ and the Noble County Senior Citizens. She loved playing cards, especially rummy and Skip-Bo. She also enjoyed reading and taking bus trips with the Noble County Senior Citizens.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Mae Butler, who died January 20, 2023; and a son-in-law, Greg Ramage.
Surviving are her children, Betty L. Ramage of Caldwell, Jim (Robin) Butler of Arizona, Gary (Rose) Butler of Ava, and Randy L. Butler of Caldwell; 5 grandchildren, Carol (David) Wheeler of Caldwell, Amanda (William) Jones and Amy (Johnny) Allen, all of Summerfield, David (Krystal) Butler of Florida, and Alexia Butler of West Virginia; 10 great-grandchildren, Zack, Ashley, Heather, Matthew, Tracey, Shawn, Ryan, Lindsey, Madison and Sylvia; 10 great-great-grandchildren, Peyton, Sophia Bell, Walker, Lincoln, Negan, Karmandy, Klark, Maverick, Morgan, and Delilah; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM with Pastor George Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
