Obituary for V. Lucille McMannis
V. Lucille McMannis, age 91, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. Lucille is now resting in Jehovah’s memory and awaiting the time when Jehovah will call her from the grave. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Lucille firmly believed in the resurrection hope. She was born December 9, 1930, in Brilliant, daughter of the late Alfred Clyde and Gertrude Barnhart Henthorne. Lucille was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cambridge. Lucille was baptized April 30, 1960. She enjoyed reading, coloring and cooking. She was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Junior McMannis, whom she married March 11, 1948, and who died August 25, 1985; one sister, Anna Jane Harris; and four brothers, Ray, Wayne, Rodger, and Jim Henthorne.
Surviving are her children, Bonnie E. (Albert) Little of Cumberland, Sandra K. Talsky of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Barbara J. (Robert) Kotoff of Cumberland; a special niece, Nancy Moore of Cleveland; 7 grandchildren, Monica (Richard) Alstat, Michael Little, Ashley (Liz) Talsky, Adam (Bethany) Talsky, Austin, Talsky, Jared (Aprile) Kotoff, and Michelle Janczarek; 11 great-grandchildren, Nicky, Dyani, Titus, John, Rylie, Alyssa, Landon, Owen, Bryce, Gavin, and Braelyn; a sister, Linda Groves of Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a family viewing Wednesday from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. A private burial will take place at Keith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forrest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio, 43701. The family would like to give special thanks to the hospice caregivers and Dr. Lewe.
