Twila M. Wheeler, age 69, of Cambridge, Ohio, died Thursday, December 29, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family following a long battle with cancer. She was born December 24, 1947, in Cambridge, daughter of Dorothy M. “Dottie” Ball Perkins of Ava and the late Clarence E. “Bud” Perkins. She was a 1965 graduate of Shenandoah High School, and she was a beloved mother and homemaker. She was an active and devoted member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Cambridge, where she served as a board member, a Sunday School teacher, and steward, and she enjoyed helping serve dinners. She enjoyed her home and loved her family.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death one son, Tim Wheeler; and an infant sister, Delores Perkins.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert Wheeler; her children, Scott A. (Carrie) Wheeler of Lore City and Marcia M. Wheeler (fiancé, Terry Metcalfe) of Byesville; one daughter-in-law, Krystal Wheeler of Sarahsville; her siblings, Fred (Sandra) Perkins of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, James (Darla) Perkins of Ava, Edwin (Yvonne) Perkins of Pleasant City, and Marlene Teters of Belle Valley; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and her beloved church family.
Friends may call Monday, January 2, 2017, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Tuesday, January 3rd at 11AM with Ken Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
