Obituary for Timmie C. Cooper
Timmie C. Cooper, age 93, formerly of Sarahsville and Zanesville, Ohio, died Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Altercare of Canal Winchester. He was born June 17, 1922, in Fredricksdale, son of the late I. A. and Maggie Carter Cooper. He was a 1939 graduate of Sarahsville High School, and he was United States Army veteran, stationed in Huntsville, Texas, during World War II. He retired in 1987 as a machinist for the former Mahle Corporation plant in Caldwell. Mr. Cooper was a member of the Sarahsville United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed fishing and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Rosalie Johns Cooper, whom he married June 20, 1942, and who died March 15, 1997; an infant son, Wally Cooper, who died in 1945; one brother, Robert “Bob” Cooper; and a special friend, Arnetta Smith.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy L. (Greg) Drake of Canal Winchester and Sue A. (Perry) Yasher of Pataskala; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM with Pastor George Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville.
