Obituary for Thomas R. "Tom" Miller
Thomas R. “Tom” Miller, age 60, of Sarahsville, Ohio, died Thursday, April 2, 2020, at his home. He was born April 2, 1960, in Caldwell, son of Shirley M. Tucker Miller of Sarahsville and the late Carl Richard Miller, who died February 17, 1999. Tom was a 1978 graduate of Shenandoah High School. He began his career as an auto mechanic at Cowgill Chevrolet in Caldwell, followed by his employment at Gibson Chevrolet in Quaker City. He was currently employed by Rob’s Service Center in Caldwell where he’s served for 16 years. He was a member of the East Union United Methodist Church. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, dirt track racing, and he was a NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed Shenandoah High School sporting events and college football. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rhonda G. Farley Miller, whom he married September 20, 2014; his children, Matthew A. (Sierra) Miller of Senecaville and Megan A. (Charles, III) Poling of Caldwell; his step-children, Zachary (Kailey) Belcher of Chapmanville, West Virginia and Thomas J. (Jessica) Belcher of Danville, West Virginia; two sisters, Cora (Bill) Bates of Sarahsville and Lisa (Brian) Thompson of Caldwell; four grandchildren, Wyatt Lee Miller, Laken Sophia Poling, Lane Elizabeth Poling, and Charles E. Poling, IV; one step-granddaughter, Natalie R. Belcher; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be observed Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at 1PM at East Union Cemetery. Friends and family are reminded to practice distancing as recommended for everyone’s safety. A celebration of life service will be observed at a later time. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
