Obituary for Thomas C. Bird
Thomas C. Bird, age 62, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at his home. He was born November 15, 1957, in Marietta, son of the late Jerry William and Mary Jean Sanford Bird. He was a 1976 graduate of Caldwell High School, where he played trombone in the band. He was also a graduate of Mideast Career Center, where he was enrolled in the Auto Mechanic Program. Tom retired as an operator for Plastech in Byesville. He was a little league baseball coach and T-ball coach for Noble County Recreation, and he was a member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell. He loved mowing yards, collecting hats, and he was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his wife, Corissa D. Teters Bird, whom he married January 20, 2001; his children, Marlena J. (Doug) Forshey, Mindy J. Bird, and Travis D. Connolly, all of Caldwell; his step-children, Jason (Alicia) Clift, Jennifer Chambers, and Joseph (Dawna) Clift, all of Caldwell; three grandchildren, Westin Forshey, Connor Forshey, and Allie Thomas; two sisters, Jacqueline (Lendel) Byrd and Sue (Joseph) Archer, all of Caldwell; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Saturday, January 11, 2020, from 2-4PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 4PM with Ken Perkins officiating. Inurnment will take place at Olive Cemetery at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to Noble County Ripples Cancer Support Group, P.O.
