Obituary for Thelma E. Johnson
Thelma E. Johnson, age 86, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at SE Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge. She was born March 18, 1925, in Noble County, Ohio, daughter of the late John and O\'Tillia Nau Hupp. She was a 1942 graduate of Caldwell High School. Mrs. Johnson was employed for fourteen years at First National Bank in Caldwell, and she was employed as CEO for twenty-four years for Cleveland Graphite Bronze Credit Union in Caldwell, and she also served as clerk for the Village of Caldwell. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, and its Catholic Women\'s Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald V. \"Duke\" Johnson, who died in July, 1966; one son, Tom Johnson, who died in July, 2007; one sister, Mary Hill; and one brother, Howard Hupp.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca (Dan) Mazgay and Tammy (Steve) Ross, both of Caldwell; one son, Jeffrey (Roseann) Johnson of Carlisle; her siblings, Louella Crum of Sarahsville, Albert (Irene) Hupp of Summerfield, Edward (Alice) Hupp of Caldwell, Agatha Schafer of Senecaville, Art (Grace) Hupp of Caldwell, Leoba (Paul) Archer of Woodsfield, Rose (Ronnie) Schell of Caldwell, and Norbert \"Bill\" (Janice) Hupp of Caldwell; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Sunday, May 8, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the rosary will be prayed following visitation at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Monday, May 9th at 10AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Fulda with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary\'s Parrish Cemetery.
