Obituary for Thelma Boyd
Thelma Boyd, age 92, of Sharon, Ohio, died Sunday, February 11, 2007, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born July 30, 1914, in Reinersville, Morgan County, Ohio, daughter of the late Victor and Amy Thornton Walters. She had worked as a housekeeper and personal care provider for many years, and she also worked as a cook for the former Sharon Elementary School. She was greatly loved and cherished by her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Forest Bernard Boyd, who died in 1975; an infant son; one daughter, Josephine Archer; two brothers, Jerome Walters and Leroy Walters; and two sisters, Ruby Sparks and Rosemary Walters. Surviving are two daughters, Jeannette (Ray) Hogue of Strasburg, Ohio and Kaye (David) Hill of Caldwell; one son, Victor C. (Irene) Boyd of Cambridge; 16 grandchildren, including Anthony (Rockeann) Boyd of Pleasant City and Annetta (Randy) Woodford of Caldwell, whom she raised; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and several cousins. Private graveside services will be held at Sharon Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Cemetery Association, c/o Judy Baker -15023 SR 78 - Caldwell, Ohio 43724.
