Obituary for Stephen E. Burch, Sr.
Stephen E. Burch, Sr., age 67, of Cumberland, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Delaware. He was born February 8, 1953, in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late Edgar A. and Betty Callihan Burch. Steve was an oil field worker most of his life. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes, and he would help anyone who needed a helping hand. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and guns, and he loved kids.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Pearl Smith, Louise Ann Burch, and Naomi Collins; and four brothers, Tommy Burch, Gregory Allen Burch, Dwaine Russell Burch, and Jon Mark Burch.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Ellen Kaczur Burch, whom he married December 18, 1971; his children, Stephen E. (Shelby) Burch, Jr. of Shelby, Ohio, and Stephanie L. Burch of Seaford, Delaware; his siblings, William D. (Nellie) Burch of Cambridge, Ohio, Charles C. (Connie) Burch of Dexter City, Ohio, and Sue E. (Pauly) Heddleson and Timothy S. (Sharon D.) Burch, all of Cumberland, Ohio; one uncle, Russell Callihan of Columbus, Ohio; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, June 11, 2020, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, June 12th at 1PM with Ken Perkins officiating. For public safety, guests are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Inurnment will take place at a later time.
