Obituary for Stanley E. Clifford
Stanley E. Clifford, age 70, of Caldwell, Ohio, formerly of California and Kentucky, died Monday, February 16, 2015, at Heath Nursing Care Center. He was born July 17, 1944, in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, son of the late Davis and Mary O’Hanlin Clifford. He earned a Master of Human Resources Degree from Asbury College in Kentucky, and he was an ordained United Methodist minister. Mr. Clifford was a United States Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam. In addition to serving as a pastor, he was also a chaplain for hospitals in San Diego and Kentucky. He also sold real estate and cars, and he made and sold ceramics and ceramic molds. He enjoyed breeding and showing boxers, ceramics and art, fishing, reading and studying his Bible, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia S. Tyson Clifford, whom he married October 11, 2008; his children, Renee S. (Jack) Stollar-Hennes of Veto, Heather D. Stollar (Chris Valentine) of Marietta, and Erica L. (William) Stone of Reedsville; one sister, Carol Watts of the home; 5 grandchildren; and his three beloved dogs, Scamper, Little Bit, and Jordan.
Friends may call Friday, February 20, 2015, from 11AM-1PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 1PM with Pastor Larry Copley officiating. A military graveside service will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
