Sondra L. Clark, age 87, of Caldwell, Ohio died Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Altercare Summit Acres. She was born February 19, 1937, in Tippecanoe, daughter of the late Roy and Alice Yoe Clark. She was a 1955 graduate of Caldwell High School, and following graduation went to work for Huntington Bank in Columbus. Sondra also did secretarial work for Union Carbide and B&N Coal Company, from which she retired in 1999. She was also employed part-time by Noble County Job and Family Services and the Noble County Health Department, and worked for Stephen Ogle and Associates and the Noble County Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church. Sondra loved to crochet baby blankets and she enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, and playing games on her tablet. In her younger years, she was a talented cake decorator. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Mark Thurber; one granddaughter, Alison R. Clark; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Charlotte Lorey.
Surviving are her sons, Eric L. (Kelli) Clark of Caldwell and Scott A. (Lisa) Clark of Columbus; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Thurber of Urbana, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Dwain Clark of Navarre, Martha Wheeler of Caldwell, and Candy (John) Dailey of Bloomingdale; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Wednesday, November 20th at 11AM with Kirby Moore officiating. Burial will follow at East Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Absolute Hospice or to the Belle Valley Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to thank the staff at Altercare Summit Acres for their special care.
