Obituary for Shirley C. Patterson
Shirley C. Patterson, age 72, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at her home. She was born August 19, 1948, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Victor Morris and Irma Irene Kappel Smith. Shirley was a graduate of Caldwell High School and she was formerly employed by LDM Plastics in Byesville. She attended the Caldwell Free Methodist Church, and she enjoyed baking and shopping, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her best friend, Janet Stover.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Patterson, whom she married July 28, 1990, and who died in 2003.
Surviving are her children, Darlene (Mark) Roe of Senecaville and Cheryl D. Patterson of Orrville; her siblings, Leland (Connie) Smith of Texas, Paul Smith of Caldwell, Larry (Susan) Smith of Cambridge, Dean (Pat) Smith of Louisville, Dwain (Ruth) Smith of Caldwell, Janie (Kevin) Madden of South Carolina, Vickie (Rick) Snyder of Caldwell, Darrel (Shirley) Smith of Caldwell, and Dave Smith of Caldwell; 5 grandchildren, Nathan, Reiley, Kevin, Allen, and Rachel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private service will be observed by the family at Dudley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Absolute Hospice Foundation, 39 Summit Court, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724. McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, is caring for the family.
