Obituary for Sherman Ramsey
Sherman Ramsey, age 75, of Cleveland, formerly of Lower Salem, died Friday, December 21, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland. He was born December 8, 1937, in Beechy Ridge, West Virginia, son of the late Glenville and Nonie Ramsey. He worked in foundries early in his life, and was formerly employed by Thompson Aluminum Castings in Garfield Heights. He farmed until 2007. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joan M. Pfendler Ramsey, whom he married February 2, 1957, and who died July 6, 2006. Surviving are three daughters, Joan M. Ramsey of Stafford, Jennialine M. Ramsey of Akron, and Pamela R. (Steve) O’Dell of Camden, Arkansas; three sons, Sherman L. (Jo) Ramsey and Adrian M. Ramsey, both of Cleveland, and Robert J. (Connie) Ramsey of Bedford; his siblings, Mike, Leonard, June, Molly, Polly, and Alice; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday, December 27, 2012, from 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Friday, December 28th at 11AM. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery near Harriettsville.
