Obituary for Shelva Jean Crites
Shelva Jean Crites, age 64, of Beverly, Ohio, formerly of Akron, Ohio, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon (5/14/2002) at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. She was born 8/23/1937 in Richwood, West Virginia a daughter of Zenna Alderman Foster Cain of Parkersburg, West Virginia and the late Melvin Foster. She was a homemaker and had attended the Reinersville United Methodist Church, and was a member of the International Order of Foresters. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her step-father Kermit Cain and an infant brother. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband Luther B. Crites, Sr., whom she married 7/19/1958; 1 son Luther B. 'Luke' (Sandy) Crites of Akron, Ohio; 2 brothers Donald (Charlene) Knight of Florida and Charles (Janice) Knight of Niles, Ohio; 2 grandsons Kyle & Brad Crites of Akron, Ohio; special friend Rita Brownrigg of Reinersville, Ohio; nieces, nephews and many friends. Friends may call Friday (5/17/2002) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, where services will be held on Saturday (5/18/2002) at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Huntsman officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The Family requests memorials be made to the Reinersville United Methodist Church, c/o Richard Oney, 2455 Airport Road, McConnellsville, Ohio 43756.
