Obituary for Shelby Marlene Miller
Shelby Marlene Miller, age 79, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born August 31, 1936, in Morristown, Athens County, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles H. and Sylvia L. Evener Showalter. She was employed as a housekeeper and nurse’s aide for Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell, and she was a member of the Belle Valley United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Francis R. Miller, Sr., who died in 1969; one son, Randall L. Miller, who died in 1973; three sisters, Margaret Schoonover, Marvella Nelson, and Maxine Dehman; and five brothers, Elmer, Pearl, Charles, Jr., Lester, and Melvin Showalter.
Surviving are her children, Joseph R. (Gloria) Miller of Tampa, Florida, Francis R. Miller, Jr. of Byesville, Richard L. (Kim) Miller of Lakeland, Florida, David K. (Brenda) Miller of York, South Carolina, and Jean A. Weaver of Jamestown; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, March 20, 2016, from 4-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be observed Monday, March 21th at 2PM with Tom Dehman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Fulda.
